Camille Penelope 5 Months

Camille learned to roll back to tummy at 4 m 5d,  then rolled tummy to back on 8.18.16, 4.5 months!

Shrieks! 

Scoots herself! Ah!! Pushes herself with her feet on her tummy or back. 

Camille had her first sickness...it was so weird! Nick and I had it too. Chills, extreme exhaustion, and horrible body aches. But no fevers! Camille would just cry if we tried to hold her....she just wanted to sleep in her bouncy chair. Woke up to eat, then wanted back down to sleep all day. Poor baby. 

She is starting to break out of her swaddle. Ugh! She can't sleep without it, but breaks out and then wakes up.

Pinches with her hands...if she gets a hold of your cheeks or neck skin it hurts so bad!

She is such a happy baby, smiles at everybody! 

Likes the Bumbo chair and loves chewing on toys!

Tries to escape the bouncy chair by pulling on the sides to roll over in it. 

Not sleeping as well....breaking out of the swaddle and General 4 month sleep regression are getting me. 

Is growing out of some 6 month clothes and can wear many 9 month clothes. 

Size 3 diapers for sure!

Goes to bed at 8pm, wakes at 7am for daycare or else may sleep in until around 8 if we are home. No schedule through the day, which is weird for me. With all the stuff we do, we just keep everything flexible. Usually takes 2 (ish) naps a day at home and could take 2-4 naps at daycare. 8pm bedtime is the only goal. 

Nicknames of chubs, chunk chunk, or any variation of that. Nick calls her Camille James, and I call her Mila Bear.

What's in a Name-Baby #3

A third baby.....a third name to choose. This again was not easy!  Before we found out she was a girl, we liked Graham or Harrison for a boy (I liked Leo).  But then....it's a girl!  Some names we kind of considered were Vivienne, Sylvia, Genevieve, Eleanor/Nora, Annalise, Lydia (but our good friend from college named his daughter that), and Clara (though that was my Grandmas name and we already had Oliver after my Grandpa....... ).  I was thinking she would end up a Vivienne, but it just didn't seem right. We didn't even consider Camille until a few days before she was born and I was complaining about all the nice names Nick vetoed....he piped up when I got to Camille and said, "I never said no to Camille, I said no to Camilla". Ok then, after that Camille just seemed fresh and seemed like the right name.

Since there was minimal that we could agree on, after she was born....she was Camille!  We didn't know a middle name.  She was actually named Camille Viviana in the delivery room for about a half hour.  I asked Nick if we could use Viviana in the middle, I thought it was so pretty!  I introduced her to a couple of nurses and then Nick said "can you just not say her middle name anymore".  He obviously really didn't like it. So back to Camille No-name.  We both liked Penelope, but not as a first name.  I looked through the top 500 names on the Social Security website that night while nursing, and didn't find anything that caught my eye.  The next morning, the Birth Records lady came in to do the birth certificate.  I looked at Nick and asked if she should come back or go with Camille Penelope, and he said sure that works.  Ha.....that was it.  Camille Penelope!

Camille continues to turn into a sweet little baby! 

• She is almost rolling both ways, she seems so interested in rolling on her side and will sometimes really try to get over!
• Loves holding toys, though isn't so coordinated yet 
• Loves her play may. We get so much use out of that!
• Sleeps 8pm-7am, usually only waking around 4:30 or 5:30am.  She typically takes about 3 naps a day at home with me, though isn't really on a schedule.  She doesn't nap so great at daycare, usually like four 30 minute naps but doesn't seem too bothered with the change. 
• Got bit on the cheek at daycare!  They told me she was just laying on a playmat and some other baby crawled or walked up to her and chomped her little cheek.  Poor baby.
• I've been experimenting with less milk at daycare.  It's so hard to figure out how much milk she's going to drink 2 days a week there.  They have to throw out anything she doesn't eat after an hour of starting a feeding, so I definitely have some loss each day.  Luckily I have lots in the freezer....about 240 ounces I'd guess!
• Camille loves her siblings and how they talk in her face all the time.  She always has a little bit of a startle and then breaks into the biggest smile!
• Camille is in all 6 month clothes and is dire need to finish her box of 2 diapers and move to a 3.

Camille - 3 Months

• Camille's fussiness/colic is greatly decreasing and she is becoming more of a happy girl every day!  The first 8 weeks she was pretty tough......but thankfully she is turning into a sweetheart little baby girl.   
• She still cries a lot when she is tired.....girl needs her sleep!
• Starting cooing/"talking" a lot this month!  She squeals and has many different noises she makes when she "talks" to you.  She loves to have people right in her face and talk to her....she'll coo right back!
• Had her first day of daycare at 9 weeks 6 days!  She typically goes Mondays and Tuesdays.  Things went really well!  She didn't have any problems her first two days and the staff said she did well -ate and slept great and didn't have any problems.  I had no idea how much she would eat from bottles through the day, but she ended up taking four 4oz bottles!
• Still basically has no schedule except goes to bed at 8:00pm and wakes at 7:00am, may sleep more toward 7:30 if it isn't a work day.  She typically only gets up once a night, usually around 4am or 5am.  There have been a handful of nights she has slept 11 hours straight!  I still wake up though to pump....mama can't make it 11 hours!  And also a few nights of her waking 2x per night, but normally once.  She is turning into a great sleeper!  She'll nap a few times through the day, normally after being awake for a couple of hours at a time.  She sleeps swaddled still!
• Just starting to reach for toys!
• Camille laughed for the first time at 10 weeks old!  Nick was talking to her on the bed when she was fussy and she started giggling!  Both Gabby and I were able to make her laugh too!
• She likes to be sung to....Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle are her favs. 
• Camille is so happy when she wakes up and sees someone's face.....just big smiles!
• She can roll on her side
• Doesn't like tummy time so much and doesn't do much of anything except fuss with her face planted in the floor
• Is a HUGE drooler and is starting to chew on our hand or on toys a lot.
• Is out of most 3 month clothes and in the 6 months!  I'll be curious to see how much she weighs at her 4 months check up.  Still in size two diapers, though we will definitely need a pack of 3's next time!
