Ahh! Thinks have been a bit crazy around here - nothing huge, just like a million different things and I really haven't blogged.....obviously. It's pretty bad when Nick finally chimes in and says "when the heck are you going to update the blog??!" Haha....he really DOES care :)
Anyways, Gabs is just becoming more of a toddler/big kid everyday. Everything she says now is in 2-3+ combos, which can get interesting. Yesterday when I was putting her down for a nap she says "eat pears". I tell her "no, take your nap". She does. When I open the door to get her when she wakes up I hear "EAT PEARS". Haha, ok.....she really wants some pears. We go downstairs and of course, we are out of pears. I tell her we don't have anymore pears, we have to buy more. "Eat pears". No, we don't have any, we need to buy more. "Buy pears. Buy PEARS!" Haha, she settled for grapes, thankfully :)
I am proud to say that Gabrielle knows all of her colors. She can identify all of them by herself and says all of the colors too. But because she knows all the colors, she is kind of obsessed with them.....there is a color to everything and we hear all of them.....blue bowl, pink chair, white shoes, purple shirt.....everything. Which is good!
I just really started to work with her on shapes and she can identify circle, square, and triangle, but can only say circle (cir-suhl) hehe.
She understands when there are two of something and likes to tell when she finds things in pairs - "twos dogs!". For some reason she makes "two" plural by throwing an S on the end....which technically is right I guess....but not right. Haha.
When we're in the grocery store and we pass by someone that has a baby, Gabs points and says "baby!", then every other baby/toddler we see in the store gets pointed at and labeled "more baby!". Again, she is technically right, but it's just funny. The same thing happens with our dogs. The first dog she happens to see in the morning is "dog", then the other one is automatically "more dog. They feel very special.
Gabrielle absolutely loves to go to the park, and now she is getting very interested in the monkey bars...eek!! She likes to climb up the monkey bars and rock wall with my (sometimes very minimal) help. I can also lift her up and she can grab onto a tall bar and hang there holding on herself! She'll hold on with her giant face smiling so big for about 5-10 seconds...let go (and have me catch her) and immediately say "more bar!!" and be ready to go again. She's such a stud.
Gabi and baby doll are pretty much inseparable still. She even lets baby sleep in her crib with her! Gabi doesn't let anything other than her blankie in her crib with her usually....I try and give her a pillow and stuffed animal to sleep with and she immediately screams "all done!!" and throws them out of her crib. Now baby has to sleep with her for naps and nighttime too. A couple of times baby got tossed out of the crib when Gab woke up, but most of the time doll stays right there. And now every time Gabi wakes up she tells me "baby poo poo". So baby will have to go on the changing table with Gabi and Gabi will wipe baby and change her [invisible make-believe] diaper.
Well, to go along with all of her awesomeness Gabrielle has suddenly decided that she likes to be rocked to sleep. Well, I guess not technically asleep but every time before bed it's "mommy rock". We get her "B" (blankie) and rock for about five minutes, then she'll sit up smile at me and point to her crib. Then I put her in her crib and she goes to sleep. I'm not sure why she suddenly likes to rock before sleep, but it's a definite fixture in our bedtime routine now.
And in some Nick & Lynn news....we started looking at new houses! I'm not sure when/if we will actually be moving in the near future, but we went and saw a couple of houses this week. We'll be staying in the same general region, but we would like a bigger house in possibly a less-cramped neighborhood. We'll see what happens!
And here is a lovely, random collection of iPhone pics.....
We went to the fair a couple of weeks ago and Gabrielle loved her some lemonade!
We also rode the carousel FOUR times. Luckily Gpa Ron took her once and gave me a break.
The worst mosquito outbreak in history.....
This is what happened the night after she decided to strip in her crib....painting tape on the diap.

Gab and Gage....it's a love/hate relationship. This photo in particular is love.
Gabrielle put "bows" in Mavericks hair. He was so thrilled with this.....haha.
