Lil Tiny Bit

That's the response I get when I tell Gabrielle "no".  I tell her "do not climb in the dog cage" and she looks me straight in the eye and says "lil tiny bit" as she sticks her foot in the cage and waves it around.  Haha, enough to make me want to rage and laugh at the same time.

Gabrielle just started her Toddler Sport-tacular class at the YMCA with Nick this past weekend.  It's a half hour class for six saturdays where 2-3 year olds "learn" basketball, gymnastics, baseball, soccer, etc.  Nick said is was "like hearding cats.....two year olds can't play sports".  Nick wasn't thrilled that Gabirlle insisted on wearing her ballerina Hello Kitty shirt....she didn't look too sporty.

Gabs now suddenly calls her grandparents "Gama and Gampa" out of the blue.  It's always been Papa and Jojo, but now she's decided that she going to switch it up?

She has a bank obsession.  Gage always feeds his piggy, so Gabrielle decided she needed to start doing that too.  The other day, however, we were at Gages house and we heard a crash upstairs.  Danielle and I went up stairs and Gabi and Gage were sitting next to each other on the top of the stairs and Gage's piggy was shattered at the bottom.  I immediately asked Gabrielle if she broke Gage's piggy and she she pointed at Gage and said "Gage did it!!".  Haha....

She loves playing with "Halloween costume" lately too.  She loves anything Halloween.....she has to watch the Halloween Bubble Guppies every day.  Weird!

We went to the fabric store and Gabrielle found this fabric and was obessed with it.  She pulled it out and said "This one! Want this one! Nemo, fishies, turtles!!"  Ha, so we ended up getting a yard of it and my mom made a purse out of it for her.  She loves it!

Here's a video of Gabrielle playing with Baby Jojo and "changing her diaper". Very interesting...

A Nephew! Boy Beeler!

So I guess I can finally blog that I'm going to be an Aunt again....and it's a BOY!  Jason and Corinne are due June 23rd (but are having a Csec the 18th I believe....) and they found out yesterday they are having a healthy little boy.  I was convinced it was a girl and I can't believe I was wrong, haha.  Corinne even texted during her ultrasound that the baby was being shy so she was jumping around to try and get it to move.  It seems like shy babies are always girls so I was convinced......until about 10 minutes later when I get this text "baby boy beeler...holy crap" haha!!  I'm very excited everything looks healthy and the little man finally showed his goods.  Now I get to shop for little boy stuff - something I don't get to do very often!!

FISH

Gabs had quite the weekend.  Saturday morning she went to Big Boy for breakfast with Nick (as she's done the past month or two now).  Then when they got home Nick went to a basketball game and I took  her to a new play place that just opened in EL.  That night we went out for mexican for dinner and Gabrielle ate a big old plate of rice and beans....yum!  Haha, she loved it.  Then we went to Meijer and got her a donut with sprinkles.  Wow what a day for a two year old.

On Sunday we were going to go to the circus....we even drove there and got all the way in......but the line to buy tickets was wrapped around the entire arena and that didn't even count the people who already had bought tickets online.  Since we didn't even know how Gabs would do with the show/lights/music/everything we left the and went to the next best place.  Pruess Pets!  It's a giant hippy crazy pet store in Lansing and Gabrielle loves it.  It has all sorts of crazy stuff and tons and tons of fish.  Gabrielle was strutting down the isles of fish tanks yelling "NEMO?!?!?!?  DORY?!?!!!".  Yep, my kid is officially obsessed with Finding Nemo and anything having to do with fish.  Our Fishy #2 is still doing great at home.  Everyday Gabrielle checks and yells "Fishy doing okay mom!".  Haha, I guess I got in the habit of asking her if her fish was ok, so now she beats me to the punch.

Sledding: Year Two

We took Gabrielle out sledding for the first time this year, and second time in her life.  This was the result last year when we took her...................................

Luckily her 12 month size snow pants and size 5 boots still fit this winter :)  She was pretty excited!  And even more excited that her new best friends were going too.  She has really taken to some new friends of ours...they have two girls age 2 and 4.

I don't really have any pictures of her smiling (probably because she was freezing and blind without her glasses on) but she really liked going down the hill.  She didn't like being outside too long though....we made through about 20 minutes of happy sledding and 20 more minutes of not-so-happy sledding before we went home.  I think it was successful for a two year old, though.

And one of my good friends from college stopped by on her way back home to North Carolina over Christmas.  Gabrielle was in love with Clara!

I finally got my camera back from Nikon, so hopefully I can get some pictures in soon!  My work is getting "busier" again so Gabs is back at the babysitter part time which she is excited about...most days :)

New year, new things

Gabrielle's little imagination is in full swing.  She loves playing with her baby dolls.  Her dolls have to "go sleep", "wake up", and take their clothes off so they can "take shower and go potty" (though those are really in the tub and over the potty....eek).  She shares her snacks with them and brushes Baby JoJo's hair.  And she still loves to "go shopping".  She find  her receipts, coupons, keys, and purse and get on her train and say "Go grocery store!  Buy granola bars and fruit pouches!  Bye mom!".

She loves music and dancing.  I took her to the mall the other day and we were walking past Abercrombie & Fitch with the music blaring out of the store of course, and Gabs immediately starts jamming and dancing in her stroller as we walk by.  The 15 year old A&F employee standing near the doorway found this pretty funny.  She also learned how to do somersaults by herself the other day too!

BUT, she now really loves TV.  She loves movies and TV shows.  She is obsessed with the movie Finding Nemo, and of still of course Milo and Otis at my parents'.

Gabrielle just LOVES babies.  Seriously....she loves helping with them (feeding, diaper changes, etc) and playing with them.  My friend Becky and her husband and 10 month old girl came to visit for a bit the other day.  The baby was sitting on floor and got ahold of some of Gabrielle's magnet letters and started chewing on them.  Gabi immediately ran over and pulled the magnet out of her mouth and said "no eat baby!!".
She can open all the doors in our house now (including the front door) so that has been interesting.  She loves opening and closing them which entertains for a good chunk of time, which is nice :)

Her glasses are still great and made a wonderful difference around the holidays with all the people and traveling - she did so well and was a ball of happy, confident energy.  I realize now even more how shy and cautious she was before her glasses.  Her depth perception and fine motor skills still aren't the best, but I have a list of questions to go over with her eye doc at her check up next month.  Luckily, if they want to change her prescription her new lenses will be free.  She has "broke" her glasses three times.  She tripped down the stairs, fell into a coffee table, and fell of her tricycle.  Nothing was really damaged, we just had to take them in to get reshaped and new nose pads put on.  They love us there already :)

And for potty training, she did so great one day peeing six times and #2 once too!  Both her and I have backed off a bit since then....it still seems like going in the potty is more out of novelty than necessity since she still goes in her diaper too, and can't reliably tell me when she really has to go.  She's gone #1 and #2 in the regular potty too, and I think we're going to stick with that from now on.  That was she's used to being on the big potty when she is really potty trained and has to go when we're out and about.  In a couple of months I'll probably take the diapers away and see if she can really do it.

No pictures lately....I took my camera in to Best Buy to have it checked out and hopefully fixed.  Of course it wasn't sticking and was working properly when I took it in, so I'm crossing my fingers that it fudges up for them :/
