Gabrielle's little imagination is in full swing. She loves playing with her baby dolls. Her dolls have to "go sleep", "wake up", and take their clothes off so they can "take shower and go potty" (though those are really in the tub and over the potty....eek). She shares her snacks with them and brushes Baby JoJo's hair. And she still loves to "go shopping". She find her receipts, coupons, keys, and purse and get on her train and say "Go grocery store! Buy granola bars and fruit pouches! Bye mom!".
She loves music and dancing. I took her to the mall the other day and we were walking past Abercrombie & Fitch with the music blaring out of the store of course, and Gabs immediately starts jamming and dancing in her stroller as we walk by. The 15 year old A&F employee standing near the doorway found this pretty funny. She also learned how to do somersaults by herself the other day too!
BUT, she now really loves TV. She loves movies and TV shows. She is obsessed with the movie Finding Nemo, and of still of course Milo and Otis at my parents'.
Gabrielle just LOVES babies. Seriously....she loves helping with them (feeding, diaper changes, etc) and playing with them. My friend Becky and her husband and 10 month old girl came to visit for a bit the other day. The baby was sitting on floor and got ahold of some of Gabrielle's magnet letters and started chewing on them. Gabi immediately ran over and pulled the magnet out of her mouth and said "no eat baby!!".
She can open all the doors in our house now (including the front door) so that has been interesting. She loves opening and closing them which entertains for a good chunk of time, which is nice :)
Her glasses are still great and made a wonderful difference around the holidays with all the people and traveling - she did so well and was a ball of happy, confident energy. I realize now even more how shy and cautious she was before her glasses. Her depth perception and fine motor skills still aren't the best, but I have a list of questions to go over with her eye doc at her check up next month. Luckily, if they want to change her prescription her new lenses will be free. She has "broke" her glasses three times. She tripped down the stairs, fell into a coffee table, and fell of her tricycle. Nothing was really damaged, we just had to take them in to get reshaped and new nose pads put on. They love us there already :)
And for potty training, she did so great one day peeing six times and #2 once too! Both her and I have backed off a bit since then....it still seems like going in the potty is more out of novelty than necessity since she still goes in her diaper too, and can't reliably tell me when she really has to go. She's gone #1 and #2 in the regular potty too, and I think we're going to stick with that from now on. That was she's used to being on the big potty when she is really potty trained and has to go when we're out and about. In a couple of months I'll probably take the diapers away and see if she can really do it.
No pictures lately....I took my camera in to Best Buy to have it checked out and hopefully fixed. Of course it wasn't sticking and was working properly when I took it in, so I'm crossing my fingers that it fudges up for them :/
