Gabrielle is 3!

Likes
  • Favorite color is [still] purple by far.
  • Doesn't like meat a whole lot, but LOVES sloppy joe meat and Arby's roast beef.
  • [Non-melted] marshmallows and vanilla malts
  • Still loves fish and aquatic life
  • Favorite books currently are Somewhere in the Ocean, Pinkalicious (which she calls Pink-Delicious), Henry and Mudge, and What People Do (a Little People book about jobs different people have).
  • Construction projects/workers, dinosaurs, and bugs/frogs/worms
  • Really enjoys playing with stuffed animals
  • Has a great imagination and loves to play make believe
  • Music/singing/dancing
  • Going out to eat.  Her favorites are still grilled cheese or mac and cheese.
  • Singing (though only on her terms.....she does no singing monkey tricks)
  • Her "yellow B" blanket is her favorite thing in the whole world...followed by zebra
  • Princesses!  Has been huge into princesses over the past few months....not sure where she got that infatuation but she loves them.
  • Movies.  She's pretty into movies and likes to keep track of who owns which movie - Jojo, us, Uncle Jason, etc... Her favorites are Up, Finding Nemo, Cinderella, and Snow White.
  • Still likes Bubble Guppies and Fresh Beat Band.

Dislikes
  • "Boy things".  I tried to buy her Thomas the Train toothpaste and she wasn't having it.  "That's for boys!!".  She picked My Little Pony instead.
  • Is obnoxiously picky about clothes lately.  Will only wear dresses, stretch pants, or plain cotton shirts.  No jeans, khakis, sweatshirts, or cardigans.
  • Hamburgers.  One of the only things she refuses to eat.
  • Non-girly clothes.
  • Spicy and hot temperature food.
Wears a size 7 shoe and is in 3T clothes for this fall.  She actually grew out of her sandals this summer and her 2T shirts were getting a little snug by September, though she still fits into her some 2T stuff, winter coat, some pajamas, and sweatshirts.

Has been 100% potty trained since July.  She was obviously ready since she didn't even wet at night at all (maybe 2 or 3 times ever).

Goes to daycare preschool Tuesday and Thursday 8:30-11:30am with Ms. Amy, and dance class (creative movement with ballet) on Wednesday from 5:45-6:30pm with Ms. Shannon.  Her best friend at preschool is Braya and her best friend at dance is Lissy (Elissa).

Is in bed at 8:15pm and sleeps until 7:00-7:30 usually.  Has quiet time in her room from about 1:00-2:30 if she's awake the whole time, or until she wakes up if she falls asleep (which is quite rare....has basically gave up napping).

Likes to be aware of what time it is, what time of day (afternoon, nighttime, etc), cities and where things are, what people's parent's names are, where people live, what we are doing today and tomorrow,

Is kind of a hypochondriac and loves to get medicine.  There have been times at night where she will come out of her room and tell us she needs medicine because she is so sick.  We've given in a few times and given her a placebo (a quarter of a Tums or something) to quiet her up and she is instantly fine.  She always asks for medicine or band aids when something is wrong....crazy girl.

Has hit the "I want" stage.  Whether it's in the grocery store, a toy store, or seeing a commercial......she wants.

Is becomming quite good at letter and number recognition.  She's not perfect, but doing really well with it.

Has been extremely excited for Halloween and her birthday for months.  For her birthday, her list has been the same for months also.....a pink kite, a purple flashlight, an umbrella, and a garbage truck with doors that open and close.  The same list.....every time someone asks.  And for Halloween she knew she wanted to be a princess for months also.  We looked at costumes several times and she always wanted to be Tinkerbell.  I tried talking her into the long skirts and long sleeves of Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty (which she's actually seen the movies with them in it, as opposed Tinkerbell) but she didn't want a "big long dress" she wanted a "little dress" so the knee-length spaghetti strap Tinkerbell costume it was.  Even though it was green.

She's now saying "I love you" to Nick and I whenever she feels the need :)

Sings her ABCs great and can count to about 14....still need to work on counting.  Beyond that she just names random numbers and yells at us if we imply in any way that that is not correct.

Has trouble saying her "s's" at the front of words.....smoothie is "movie", snack is "nack", snake is "nake"....etc.  Though she can say Cinderella quite perfectly.....hmm.

Can undo buttons on her PJs, is close to independent on the potty, and is good about picking up her toys/putting dirty clothes in hamper/cleaning up after meals.

Singing "Cinderelly" with Grandma Billie :)

And some of her freestyle dance moves. Wearing my socks.

Age two has been such a fun year!!  She has really learned how to talk like a real person, has such a personality and sense of humor, forms real friendships with other kids, and is just so much fun!  And she still has such an innocence about her which I love.

We are having a small family birthday party for Gabrielle in a couple of weeks, but Nick and I still gave her a few gifts on her birthday.  She got Arby's for lunch from my mom and we got her a vanilla malt (by request - her fav) for dessert after dinner.  Her umbrella!!!!!  She was so excited.

Two other requests - a flashlight and a pink kite.

And Backpack!

And her gift from Grandma Billie and Papa Ron.  She is so excited....this morning she came right downstairs and said "where my LeapPad??".  She didn't want to watch a show or eat breakfast....just LeapPad.  Getting her out the door for preschool was interesting.  Grandma Pat came over to meet Oliver on Sunday and gave Gabs her gift early too.  She got a Dream Light.  Gabi really wanted one.  When she got it she said "one of my dreams come true!!".  Haha...living in the world of Cinderella :)
