Then on December 27th our good friends from college, Andy and Lindsey, got married so we were in Grand Rapids for that. Nick and I (and all of us for that matter) were so looking forward to the wedding because it is like a class reunion for all of us from Ferris. Due to a random series of unfortunate events, most everyone from our group was either sick, snowed in, or something else. Our little college reunion may have not gone as planned, but the wedding was beautiful and Andy and Lindsey were so happy!
Here Nick and I are at the wedding. My work is still drama-central, but it is going ok. The girl who I'm filling in for went into labor and had her baby Monday, January 12th. She was due the 11th, but nothing happened so she came to work Monday morning. She ended up heading to the hospital mid-morning and having a little girl later that evening! I have been on my own at work for the past two weeks, and it is beginning to smooth out. I'm dealing with system issues, projects, and day-to-day happenings pretty efficiently and independently (not that I have an option...) but all is going well. I was made full-time at least for the next three months, and possible permanently pending the final reorganization and budget - so we'll see.
Nick's work continues to be busy and receiving big new projects consistently (thank goodness!). His Monday night basketball league has started, so that has kept him active (along with shoveling snow). A gym finally opened in Mason which we've joined and been attending 2-4 days a week. The other day we went to PetSmart to get some stuff. We always felt so bad for our cats because they could never have any toys because Maverick would eat them and get sick.....so we finally broke down and got them one of those cat condo/tower things. They enjoy that immensely, especially with cat nip on it, so now we don't feel like they're so deprived :)

Other than that, nothing much is new. I just can't wait until Spring to do some landscaping around our house and get back in my garden. We have also have a few vacations lined up; our Christmas gift from his parents is a trip to Florida, so we will be down there at the end of March. Nick claims he is looking into a small get-away for Valentine's day, and my girls trip for the year is in it's planning stages.
I promise I will be back with an update soon!
