Catch Up

Not that I'm really behind I guess, but here are some pictures from about a week or so ago. 

This pretty much sums up our life right now:

The stairs have to be gated at all times going downward for Gabrielle's safety, and going upwards for my sanity.  If those upward stairs aren't blocked off I am chasing that baby up there every second!  She loves stairs.  Not that I'm a totally mean mommy and never let her climb stairs....I do....in moderation.  I can't do it all day long! 

I also got the first pictures of her standing all by herself a while ago.  Not that I couldn't have gotten any sooner...I just never did!  Doesn't she look like such a big girl??

"Now I will attempt to climb my jumper.....but for goodness sakes don't you dare put me in it!!!!"

 "And I also discovered the pantry and all of the fun stuff mommy keeps in there!"

"Hmm, these dumb blocks definitely aren't as fun as all of the cans and boxes in the kitchen....."

Gabi has successfully learned where her mouth and ears are, aka - she can point to them when I say the word.  We're working on tummy, nose, and eyes.  She doesn't seem as willing to learn those, but I just started trying a couple of days ago.  She is really is getting the concept of connecting words with things, so I guess we can say we are working on a lot of that right now.  It is so fun watching her grow up and learn new things.  Just amazing. 

I had jury duty for the first time this week, and boy was that an experience!  I only had to go in one of the days but we were in court with the "alleged" criminal, judge, and both attorneys for jury selection for about six hours.  They just kept throwing out all of the jurors and I kept dodging the ball on getting picked.  Finally they were able to agree and I never had to go up for questioning.  Good thing too, because I didn't book any work for the this week but I did for next week and the trial was estimated to go through Tuesday at least!  Oh well, it's all over and Nick has to be on call next week.  How do you think that happened - spouses getting chosen for jury duty two weeks in a row? 

That is about it for now.  We have somewhat of a quiet weekend ahead.  I need to really get working on getting everything for our little princess' birthday party and I also need a Halloween costume for myself : / Yikes!!
