First night away

This past weekend was the weekend.  The first day and night away from Oliver.  We've been looking ahead to this weekend for quite some time.  Particularly when Oliver was down right REFUSING bottles.  He is doing much better now, so all was good.  I hadn't been away from him for more than three hours I think, so this would be interesting.  I wasn't emotional about leaving, just excited so that was good....haha (sorry O).  It was also the first time that I would be pumping for a significant amount of time, so I was nervous as to how that was going to go.  Everything went very smoothly, thankfully.  The kids were really good for Nick, and Oliver even took bottles in the middle of the night (only woke up twice, as he is usually doing lately).  It was weird to actually see how many bags of milk Oliver went through....we usually have no idea how much he eats.  Good thing I have about 100 ounces in the freezer.  Pumping got really old really fast while I was gone, but that's to be expected.  Pumping, storing, washing, sterilizing at least every three hours no matter where I was at.  No fun.  But I got away and got to have some fun!!!

I went to my friend Jen's bridal shower and bachelorette party in Rochester Hills.  She was one of my bridesmaids, so I'm having fun being part of her wedding too :)  She had a really nice shower.  Like, really nice - like, my wedding nice, haha.  And her bachelorette party was a ton of fun.  There were 15 girls that went out and we had a party bus that took us around to different bars.  I had the fun task of pumping on the party bus.  So while I was eating anatomically correct jello shots....I was also hooked up my pump under my hooter hider next to the pole on the party bus.  It's all good!  We had an short, middle-aged, mexican bus driver that was slightly freaked out....especially when I had him open the bus door so I could poor my milk out in the parking lot of the bar (sad face).  Haha.  We got back to girl's house we were staying at 2am and pumped, I set my alarm for 5am to pump, then slept until about 7:45am and pumped, and drove home.  I was tired.  Then I got ready and the four of us headed to Nick's parents' house for a St. Patrick's Day party.

It was a fun weekend and I was so happy to be able to get away!  The wedding is the end of next month so that will be fun too!  Luckily, both grandmas will be taking care of our babies for three days (well, two half days and one full day) and two nights while we are gone.  Gabi will be going to Grandma Billie's house for a fun-filled weekend of singing, dancing, music, camp-outs, church, and McDonald's.  Grandma Jojo will be coming to our house to snuggle with Oliver all weekend.  It should be good!

Sounds like all of the pumping was worth it!
