Well, now that we have our house fixed up and more living area done we decided to add one more (and final!) animal to the family - an English Setter puppy,
Oskar. We had talked about getting another dog for quite a while, and finally acted on it. Nick really wanted a hunting dog and had an English Setter growing up. I really wanted a companion for Maverick because he is very clingy and needy with us. We got
Oskar from the Grand Rapids area and he came home with us when he was 9 weeks old. The transition went quite well and mostly as expected.
Pudge didn't really care too much about the new dog, George hated him and hissed and batted at him as much as much as possible (just at first - they are little buddies now), and Maverick also did pretty well with him. The only thing we had issues with is that when
Oskar and Maverick went outside to play or just go to the bathroom, Maverick would ALWAYS run over to
Oskar and pee on him!! Little
Oskar didn't know what was going on so he would just sit there a get a golden shower. We were able to stop that within a few days - but those were some interesting days! Other than that, all four animals get along very well and Nick is looking forward to hunting season this year to get
Oskar our in the fields!
