I have started getting some braxton hicks contracts in the past couple weeks also. The first time I noticed one it really freaked me out - I felt my stomach and it was ROCK hard. It wasn't painful, strangely, but I couldn't believe how hard my belly got. It took me a few minutes to calm down and figure out that that was what a braxton hicks was! I got ambitious and did quite a bit of cleaning the other day - dusting, mopping the floors, vacuuming the stairs and furniture etc. With being that active, just as they predict, I had a couple of contractions so I stopped and rested and they went away.
I can tell the baby is getting bigger just by watching her through my stomach. Instead of seeing little random pokes, now it's like I can see a whole leg or her head poke out and move around my belly sometimes! I can only imagine what it will be like in another 5 or 10 weeks :) Nothing else is really new. I'm going in for check-ups every two weeks now - I have eight more visits scheduled until I'm done! The last one is actually scheduled on my due date, so I'm hoping I won't make it to that one :)
The nursery is starting to come along. We have her bed totally together (crib, bedding, mattress, and mattress pad) and I have all of her clothes so far washed and sorted. A few people have been very generous with baby clothes, so we have a head start on some necessities. A family friend is giving us their changing table and we are looking into dressers now. I ordered the window valance today and now need to make some decisions on a couple of pieces of art for the nursery. I really like how it's coming....lots of pink (of course!) and touches of cream, lavender, green, and yellow. Once we have the room together I will be sure to post some pictures.
Here is mommy and baby at 29 weeks.
