Ok, as uncomfortable and painful as labor is going to be...lets just get to it already! I don't know what this little one is so scared of - her mom and dad are pretty cool people, she had a nice room all set up and ready for her, and we have lots of animals for her to play with - she should really give it a chance and come out!
Nick and I spend Monday night (the due date) in labor and delivery triage at the hospital due to some red bleeding I started having early that evening. They monitored the baby for a long time (she did great) and monitored contractions. Turns out I've been having "real" contractions 3-4 minutes apart but still only dilated to barely 2. They didn't see anything serious where all the bleeding was coming from (no placenta issues, etc) and said that it was most likely due to my body's reaction to the contractions and things changing. The red bleeding started to slow and they said if I could deal with the contractions they were fine with me going home and just keeping an eye on level of bleeding.
I had a regular doctor's appointment yesterday where they didn't really do much. I have an ultrasound today to check the level of amniotic fluid and placenta function and another non-stress test scheduled for Friday if I'm still pregnant. My weight gain has stayed steady at 32lbs for at least a couple of weeks now, so it looks like I hit the recommended range which was my goal (not "hitting" the range, obviously - staying WITHIN it).
So, another day of being pregnant...
