We have smiles this time....having fun making faces with Mom :)
I don't know if there are too many Mommy genes in there...she looks like all Dad in this pic
We had an exciting visit to Grandma and Grandpa McCallums...the black and white kitty was a hit
The poor kid...I don't think anyone loves her ;)
Showing off how she can hold her head up - though doesn't look too thrilled in this picture
Totally amused with looking at Grandma upside down
Busy with Grandpa and the new fun toys
Back at home and making her silly faces

It's way intense looking at those butterflies...

Practicing holding her head up and watching the game with Dad
Always busy looking with those pretty baby blues
A real girl - happy as can be to go shopping
Ok, and now for the update. Nothing too exciting. Little lady is still sleeping 10-11 hours straight at night and I'm still loving it! And Gabi loves watching TV....it is actually quite disturbing. Nick will be playing video games or watching sports and Gabi won't take her eyes off of the TV. She would watch all day if we let her! Once I catch her looking at the TV for more than a couple of minutes I will turn her around or take her somewhere else to do something because it just freaks me out that our 10 week old enjoys TV watching that much!

We have also heard Gabi get so excited when she is smiling that she tries to laugh/squeal! It sounds like a squeal anyway...not sure if it is an actual "squeal" (yes, "squealing" is a medical term and a developmental milestone - who knew). Whatever it is, it's pretty funny :) She is continuing to "talk" more and more. One of her favorite things right now is to to lay on the couch and have you lean over and talk to her. She will be full of grins and try and talk back with her little voice...it's too cute.
I've been busy looking into daycare options for our Gabs. I am currently a stay-at-home mom and am very thankful that we are able to have me be home with her. I never thought I would want to stay home with our kids but I enjoy it very much and it keeps me very busy! I have been hired into a couple of different companies, however, as a contract medical health screener. I have done this sort of thing before I worked at LCC - basically companies hire us to come in and conduct health screenings for their employees. The screening usually involves height and weight, waist measurement, blood pressure, finger stick for cholesterol and glucose, and then a one-on-one health counseling session once all of the tests are completed. I enjoy the work, but the since it is on a contract basis the jobs can be sporadic, usually involve weird and long hours, and requires travel which is hard with a baby.
Working one or two days a week would be nice financially as well as keep my mind in the health/wellness arena without having to sacrifice much time with Gabi. Figuring out care for Gabrielle (that I'm comfortable with) on a part-time/as needed basis has proven to be difficult. I interviewed a daycare today and it was fine, I guess. Really, I'm sure it would be ok if necessary but it just seemed so cold and dull in the infant room...just a bunch of babies sitting in swings and cribs lined up against the wall....I don't know. I am scheduled to work four days in the next couple of weeks and Grandma Jo has offered to babysit. We'll have to think about it some more - if it's worth all the hassle just to work a few days here and there or if I'll just stay home full time for a while longer. Nick is supportive of whatever I want to do - if I want to work we'll figure out a way to make it work, and if I want to stay home for longer we'll make that work too - I'm so lucky to have such a great hubby! I need to look at a couple of more options before I commit to any more work days, so stay tuned find what happens!
