Her little chubby legs have been going non-stop! When she is laying on her back in her pack 'n play she will be looking at her toys and kicking her little legs as hard as she can. I'll look over and the whole pack 'n play will be shaking! She has also continued to be a star sleeper. We had a couple of days where she woke up between 4:00 and 5:00am for a feeding, but other than that she has continued to sleep from about 9:00pm to 7:00am. Score one for me!
We have also been working on getting her head to turn to the left when she is laying down and she is doing well with that. Hopefully we can get that little head evened out soon :( Tummy time has continued to be horrible. With that big 'ol head and that little 'ol body Gabi needs to really work on her neck muscles and head control....that is very hard to do, however, when whenever you put her on her tummy she just buries her head in the mattress and screams like there's no tomorrow. I keep trying, though it is very time consuming when it takes twice as long to calm her down afterwards than she was on her tummy!
A big milestone this past weekend - we left Gabi with a real babysitter for the first time! She has stayed with my parents, Nick's parents, and Jason & Corinne before, which I never thought twice about. This time we hired a teenager from the neighborhood behind ours. She is a very nice girl and did great with Gabi. I was quite apprehensive about the whole thing, but knew she would be fine. I did, however, write up two pages of notes and called to check in (only once!). Everything went just fine and it is nice to know we have a babysitter now. Nick and I went to the Michigan State basketball game and then out to dinner and had a great time! We also got a king size bed this weekend! We had been talking forever about getting a new (and bigger) bed and finally went picked one out last weekend. It got delivered on Saturday and we love it! Getting a new bed means I got to pick out new bedding too (woo hoo)! I actually found a set that looks great with the carpet and walls in our bedroom on huge sale for only $100, so that was a huge bonus. The queen size that was in our room is now in the "guest room". Yes everyone, we actually have a guest room now so no more sleeping on the couch for friends/family who come over :)
My goodness. What was going to be a quick post suddenly has become monster size. I need to go and get some stuff done while Gabrielle is still napping. Until next time......
The first three seconds of tummy time...before she realizes she's on her tummy
Sitting up is much better
My pajamas are too small.....
Napping like a pro
Mom, you're not funny
Still trying to figure out those animals on her bouncy chair
