Gabrielle's 1st Dance Recital!

So, since finding out I was having a baby girl I had always hoped this day would come.  Her first dance recital!  June 1, 2013 at Okemos High School - and she was amazing.  Her hair was gelled back into a bun, make up was on, had her tights, ballet shoes, head piece, and costume.  She looked like a little doll!  For the dance, each girl "grew" up from behind a big cardboard flower pot at the beginning of the dance, and when it was Gabrielle's turn to grow the whole crowd went "awwww!".  It was so darned cute because her little head was barely tall enough to see over her flower pot.  She knew just was she had to do and did wonderful.  She kept smiling and waving to some person in the crowd on the totally opposite end of the auditorium that we were in.....haha.  Later we asked who she was waving to on stage and she said Grandma Jojo :)  At intermission my mom and I were walking around and we heard two separate groups of people talking about my girl "did you see that little girl in the flower dance with the glasses??  She was so cute!".  And yes, I absolutely stopped one of the times and told the people that that was my daughter :)  Nick was thoroughly embarrassed that I did that.....but I was so proud of her!  She loved it and still plays "recital" at home....dancing and changing her "costume" and "dancing like the big girls" as she puts it.  G and G McCallum, G and G Taylor, Jason, Corinne, Isaiah, Nick and I were all there.  We all went out to dinner at Stillwater afterward.  Gabs got flowers from everyone and a Barbie with clothes that she wanted from G and G Taylor.  Oliver got to stay home with the babysitter!  Gabi is looking forward to dancing this summer, as well as swimming (which is going on now - she loves it - tells us she wants to be a swim teacher when she grows up) and gymnastics that starts in a couple of weeks!
