Oliver Maxwell - 7 Months

I can't believe our baby boy is already 7 months old and on his way to 1 year.  Crazy.  He is doing great and everything is continuing to stabilize both with him and in our family.

• His sleeping has been all over the place.  He slept through the NIGHT for the first time this month!!!  8:30pm-6:00am, then back down until about 8am.  He has gone through periods of only waking 1x/night, waking 2x/night, and waking 4-5x/night all in the same month.  Who knows.  We started letting him sleep with his favorite blue and brown blanket, but my mom came over and cut it smaller and re-hemmed it so it hopefully won't smother him when he sleeps with it on his face......
• We have successfully gone out to eat a few times, so that is exciting.  He sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time a few weeks ago and it worked out ok.  He sat half the time in the car seat and then moved up to the high chair - he thought it was pretty cool.
• His eating is getting a little bit better.  He actually opens his mouth for his food a lot of the time now, so he is getting there.  He seems to like avocado and banana.  He liked prunes, sweet potato, and carrots too.  He didn't seem to like peas too much.  I have a feeling he might be a pickier eater.  The past few days I've been trying to make it a point of trying solids 2x a day, though he probably only eats an ounce or so each feeding.  He still hits the milk machines hard for basically all his nutrition.  I am planning on nursing him for a year unless something bad happens.     
• I think he is actually getting himself on a schedule now.  Goes to bed about 8:30pm and wakes between 7-8am.  Has just started taking 2 naps a day - the first about 10:30 and it's been 1.5-3hrs.  A second on about 3pm and that's usually somewhere around an hour.
• He has a decent little covering of hair on his head, though it is really blonde :)
• Still has eczema problems in the creases of his knees and elbows, and sometimes his face.
• In all 9 month and some 12 month clothes, needs to be in size 4 diapers but I'm squeezing his tush into the rest of the 3's we have if it kills me.
• Still only has his two little bottom teeth he sprouted at 5 months.
• He can sit up and he can push his whole chest off the floor and pivot and scoot a bit when he's on his tummy.  That's about it for physical accomplishments.  Still won't roll over - we'll try and help him do it and he'll steady his giant body with all his might.
• Learned how to spit this month!
• He's starting to cry when I walk away now or when's he sitting with someone else and looks at me...ugh. 
• Likes to play with toys with doors on them.
• He yells a lot.
• Continues to love to play peek-a-boo
• Gabi gives him the biggest belly laughs!  She will scream in his face and poke his belly really hard and he will just laugh and laugh and laugh.
• Gabi is very protective of him.  We have trouble getting her to stand up to herself a lot of the time, but if another kids takes Oliver's toy or tries to do something to him, she will fight to the death.  If we set him on the floor and don't put a pillow behind him, she will stop what she is doing to find one and put it behind him.  She always makes sure he had a toy to play with.  She's so sweet to him.

Possibly one of my favorite pictures so far......the most beautiful baby boy in the whole world!!!
