That night I had my first overnight away from my baby (and Nick's first overnight taking care of her)! When Nick got home around 4:30 Caresse, Jess, Linda and I headed down to Jackson to meet Jess' mom for dinner and spend the night. We had a really good time at dinner - enjoyed a few beverages and lots of food. Maybe a little too good of time....I left my darn credit card at the restaurant! Oh well, Gabs and I made a quick trip down the next day to get it. We all spent the night at Jess' house and stayed up and talked and watched movies. It was so nice to see a couple of the roomies and Linda and Tammy too! Traveling down state from the UP in February isn't easy so we were missing our Becca :( All in all, it was a really good time and I'm so happy Caresse was able to meet Gabrielle before she got too big! And yes, there we a *few* pictures taken ;) Here are some of mine - I will probably steal a few of Jess and Caresse's once they post theirs too!

Aunt Caresse's Visit!
Gabrielle's little life is complete now...she finally met her Auntie Caresse in person!!! This past weekend Caresse flew in from California and got to spend the day with her favorite (only, so far) niece as well as our other fellow college roomie, Jess. They came over in the morning and Gabi did a nice little montage of her various moods for her Aunties - mad, giggly, interested, tired, happy, hungry, silly, etc...they got to see the many sides of Gabi all within a few hours! Of course, because Gabi fever has been building in Caresse out in Cali for the past three months, once she got here and opened her suitcase it looked like a Carter's store exploded all over our living room :) Let's just say that baby Gabrielle won't be hurting for cute clothes anytime soon! We had a really nice day hanging out at my house and even made a traditional Meijer trip - only this time it included a baby carrier. Caresse got a good reality check in regards to the whole baby/family/motherhood thing, but she adjusted quickly and settled into her role of "Auntie" flawlessly :) It was great having Caresse and Jess here - they fed her, burped her, read gossip mags and baby books to her, played with her, etc, etc! Gabi definitely knows the difference between strangers and people she knows well, so it took her a little while to stare down and figure these ladies out but they were like old buddies by the end of the day. Caresse's mom Linda was even able to come over and see baby Gabi. She is a lucky baby indeed!
