So I guess she COULD do it all along....?

Tummy time. The most dreaded part of both Gabrielle's and my day. For Gabrielle, putting her on her tummy - even for a moment - is the worst thing you could possibly do to her. For me, it is a time of failure (she is over three months old and cannot/will not lift her head off of the ground...she lays there in a permanant faceplant position screaming her head off while her cousin props himself up and happily looks around the room), frustration (the thing is she doesnt' even seem to try....she exerts all of her energy screaming as loud as she can or just lays there like a limp slug and sucks on her hand), and sadness (it hurts me to see her so upset and to see her frustrated with the position she's in and unable to get out of).

Well, today like any other day I put her down for her first session of tummy time for the day and braced myself for the hysterics that were sure to start at any moment when I see this......

I couldn't beleive my eyes! Luckily I had my camera in her room so I grabbed it and was able to gets some pics. I know this may not look like much to anyone else but this is a huge accomplishment for her right now! But then I thought, so if all of a sudden she was able to pop up and do this....was she able to do this all along and just didn't feel like it?! I guess we'll never know but I'm looking forward to her next pediatrician appointment when I get to tell them the good news! With a significantly large head in proportion to her body, little Gabi has been a bit behind in the neck strength/head control department. Not anymore!
