First day back to work!

What do you mean you're going to work? I thought you liked hanging out with me all day?!

Not that this is that momentous of an occasion...I am only working a day or two here and there, but it was still crazy leaving my little lady for the first time and heading off to work! I thought about her all day - all her little faces and noises...I told Nick not to put her to bed so that I could see her when I got home :) I was working a diabetes screening in Mt. Pleasant all day and got home around 8:30pm. The screening was sooooo slow! It was a community event instead of being a corporate account so it's not like we had shifts of employees to screen like usual. It went fine, though, and I was able to go home and spend a little bit of time with Gabrielle before she went to sleep. My mom came to babysit during the day and then left once Nick got home from work. My poor mom...of course my first day back to work Gabi gets sick :( She has a cold (which she lovingly passed on to me) so she is stuffed up, snotty, and coughing a bit. She has kept pretty good spirits despite not feeling well, though. She is sleeping a little bit more and of course gets upset when I get treasures out of her nose with the bulb syringe. That never goes over well.

Hopefully she starts feeling better because our weekend is jam-packed! Tonight we are going out to eat with Jeff and Christine and then they are coming back to our house to babysit little Gabi while Nick and I go to see "Young Frankenstein" at the Wharton Center. Tomorrow we are going out to lunch at Mongolian BBQ for Nick's Dad's birthday and then to a Superbowl party at Steve and Alexis' at night. Goodness.

In other Gabi news, our little stinker turned 12 weeks old a couple of days ago and she'll be three months next week! Crazy!! She is starting to "stand" quite a bit now. If you hold her up she will push against the ground with her little legs most of the time. She is sucking on her hands and drooling more and more. I think she is gearing up for the beginning stages of teething. She used to only suck on her hands when she was hungry but now she does it throughout the day. It's so funny to watch - it's usually her thumb and her first finger in there together. Who knows how she figured that out! She is also starting to develop an interest in touching things. Up until now she has really had no desire to touch or feel anything with her hands but now she is starting to realize she can hold and feel things. What a smart little girl...every day new discoveries!
