I keep forgetting not to underestimate this little lady. Just because she can't do something one day doesn't mean she can't do it the next. Example 1:
I set Gabi on the floor the other day and she just sat up on her own! Since when could she do this? I don't know! But she can sit up on her own quite well for a four month old (especially since she's never really had any practice because I never thought to try and do it)! She can support and control herself well when she leans forward, but if she leans back it's all over...she's going down.

We were playing on the floor and she likes to look at her self standing up in the full length mirror (holding onto my hands, of course). Well, while she was standing the laundry basket next to her caught her eye. She grabbed onto it and proceeding to stand up on her own while holding onto the basket! I just sat there and watched our four month old stand up without me. Goodness. She can also pull herself from sitting to standing while holding onto your fingers.
I also got her a new exersaucer. Now, yes, she has a jumper already but it's huge and doesn't have much for her to really do on there besides jump. Her feet don't touch the floor and she doesn't really like to jump anyway (at least right now). I thought she might enjoy something like this so I gathered up some gift cards we received for her and picked up this little beauty that now resides in our living room (I was really going to try to avoid that "my house looks like a daycare" look, but I'm slowly failing at that). Her feet still don't touch the ground in this, but it's no biggy. She's very interested in the toys and it's a nice change of pace from her bouncy chair (which is still her fav).
This darn toy still gives her so much trouble! She always insists on picking the whole thing up and gets so overwhelmed by it. Being the stubborn baby she is, I will try and take it away once she gets upset and give her something else to do but she won't have any of it. She will search out that toy and try to get it back and figure it out!

The sleeping saga continues. Actually it's not really a saga yet because I'm a wimp and won't take her swaddle away from her due to my own selfish sleep-loving needs. My mom suggested that I give her one of her little teddy blankets to snuggle with and this is how she fell asleep. She managed to pull the tiny blanket across her
entire face. Major FAIL.
In other Gabi news, we've moved on from just vowel sounds and she now says "goo" a lot. She is actually laughing as of a few days ago. When she sees something she wants she is starting to lunge out to get it like she wants to crawl.....oh my! And her little hair is starting to come in again. She has lost just about all of her baby hair, but there are a few long strands here and there and she still has her baby mullet, of course. Her new hair is still coming in dark and it looks fuzzy/wavy in places, so we'll have to see how it turns out!
In other news, since we had our deck built last fall we needed some patio furniture. I had no idea how expensive patio furniture was (like $1000 at least!) so Nick was able to find a nice set on Craig's List for only $175. Score! He brought it home and it looks even nicer than in the pictures. I just have to find an umbrella for it and we will be set. Other things were are working on soon will be some sort of landscaping for under the deck, laying bricks at the bottom of the deck stairs, and getting my garden going again. Yes, I'm attempting a fruit/vegetable garden again this year. Nick just fixed the bunny fence around it so I will give it a try!
