I went to the dark side...

I finally did it. Again. And this time it wasn't because I was a rebellious college kid :) I went dark after many comments by the hubs and friends who just "loved me with dark hair". I did it as a surprise for Nick - partly because I just thought it would be fun to surprise him and partly because I knew if I told him he would just complain about the money and say that "my hair looked fine how it was". In avoidance of that, I told him I was meeting a friend for dinner last night but I went to get my hair done instead :) Surprise! It is quite dark with some honey colored highlights. And even more fun, since I changed my hair so much I had to tweak my makeup routine a bit to match the new 'do. Oh, the fun of being a girl!

On the way home from the salon last night, I had a quick panic attack in the car that Gabi wouldn't recognize me or that she would be scared of me with dark hair. All was good though. She could care less :)

Tummy time has regressed back to Gabi screaming with her face planted into the ground. Grrr. She almost rolled over yesterday though because she get so mad her little legs were just about able to kick herself over! My Uncle Rex and Aunt Wanda sent Gabi a bunch of toys from Germany. Each new toy we handed her went straight into her mouth!
I've also starting putting Gabi in our baby carrier during the day sometimes so she can hang out with me while I get some things done. Honestly though, it's a little weird....I sorta kinda feel pregnant again with the little ham strapped on the front of me. Haha, oh well.
She grabs onto her knees now and will grab her left foot (but usually not her right for some reason...)
Hanging out with Daddy
I've been putting her in her jumper again - against the recommendation on the tags, but whatever. Her feet still don't touch the ground but she likes being in there. I'll put her in it for a few minutes at a time just to give her something different to do.

Little lady also got her first taste of people food this week, though I wish it were under better circumstances :( Gabi tends to get a little bit "backed up" if you get my drift. Little bouts of this problem happen every so often and they usually work themselves out on their own or we just do her bicycle legs more often. This time it was pretty bad. We went to my friend Becky's bridal shower on Sunday and Gabi was just awful. She kept straining (loudly) and crying....the next day I gave her an extra long bath and gave her prune juice in her bottle. She took a couple of sucks and stopped and made a face and stuck out her tongue. I got her to drink about two ounces total and then she spit up a decent amount of that. Prune juice spit-up is not fun, by the way. It stinks and is sticky....yuck. The juice helped though, and Ms. Gabrielle is feeling much better back on schedule.
