Father [really does] know best

Now, I know that this may come as a bit of a surprise (especially since Nick plays off his baby skills in front of other people) but he has taught me a lot about taking care of our baby. He taught me how to give a baby a bottle. I had never given a baby a bottle before and only knew how to breastfeed Gabi, so when we finally started having to give her bottles she would squirm and not eat well when I tried to give one to her. Nick had to show me how to just shove the bottle in her mouth and she would then happily eat. He showed me how to put a diaper on so that she wouldn't pee through it everywhere and also showed me little baby tricks like having her suck on the back of our fingers and entertaining her by tapping around her mouth and lips.

Well, he did it again last night. I was about to put her to bed and I asked him to grab her swaddle out of the dryer. We were still putting her in her small swaddle every night for bed (yes, she STILL sleeps swaddled every night) and she has been consistently waking up around 5am and needing her pacifier to go back to sleep. Nick convinced me to put her in her large swaddle last night and see how it went. The little bugger happily slept from 8:30pm until 7:15 this morning. Don't worry, Nick knows he's good. He stumbled out of bed as quick as he could this morning to point out to me that she slept totally through the night. Darn him :)

And I just have to show off a pic our Gabi girl on her tummy. Now she is lifting her head and chest again like a little champ! She'll lift if way up and lay down, then lift it way up again and lay back down. She'll do this quite a few time before getting angry. What a champ!

Gabi has also taken her first step toward terrorizing the animals. Pudge walked by her this morning and she grabbed a fist full of his long fluffy fur and held a baby death grip on it and had the biggest smile on her face. Pudge didn't find it quite as amusing..... :)
