Lil Scooter

Gabi girl has started do a few new things the past week...none of them are really on command or extremely consistent yet but they are starts!

A few days ago Gabi discovered that she LOVES to roll and wants to roll all the time. We really can't leave her alone anymore because if she wants to, she can roll off of a big bed or across the room in five or ten seconds flat! I think I'm going to invest in our first baby gate sometime this week. We need to put one in for the stairs in our living room that go down to our basement. Her play area in the living room is right by the big drop off so we need to seal that off.

Since Gabi likes to roll so much she often ends up on her tummy...and then "scoots" backwards. It's not crawling really, she can just slide herself backwards by pushing her arms. It's been a little bit cooler the past couple of days so Gabi has been wearing pants. Once she scoots herself off of the area rug in the living room she slide herself backwards all the way into the kitchen in about 10 seconds!

I mentioned this before, but she is also very in to clapping also. Holding two toys and clapping them together, holding a rattle and hitting it like a tambourine with the other hand, anything like that. She is getting her Miss America wave down too. Gabi started waving a few days ago....that's still quite a new thing but she'll just wave her hand at you or she'll hold a toy and wave goodbye with it. I don't know where she picked that up at but it's so cute :)

And....I guess she can play peek-a-boo and I was the last to know?! Gabi stayed overnight with my parents this past weekend and when I picked her up in the morning my mom was like "...and then Gabi played peek-a-boo with us for about 45 minutes last night..." What??? Gabi gets the concept of the game herself and will cover her face with a blanket and then when you say "where's Gabi?" she'll pull the blanket away and give you a big smile! I told Nick about it later that day and he said "So? She did that with me a few days ago too. I assumed you knew she could do that?" Ahhhh! Haha, really not a big deal just funny!
