It's Lynn's Turn!

So most people who know us are aware Nick has quite a few hobbies and has invested quite a few dollars towards those fun activities. Hobbies are great to have and if you have then money why not keep yourself occupied with them, right? I spend my fair share of cash too but I finally invested in something somewhat extravagant and indulgent for myself! I got a new fancy camera!!! I already have a little digital camera that works great and I still need for day-to-day use, but now I also have a Nikon DSLR camera where I can change lenses, manipulate the shutter speed/aperture/ISO, and lots of other stuff to someday hopefully be able to take cool pictures. I'm very excited! I'll put up some of my first pictures once I get them onto our computer. They're not very good (obviously) but I'm just starting to learn.

Gabrielle finally recovered from the long holiday weekend. It took two days of cranky awfulness for the sweet babe to get back to being a sweet babe after the busy weekend. She will (hopefully) be having her first overnight away from us this weekend. We are taking her to Grandma and Grandpa McCallum's when we go a wedding on the west side this Friday. If she is sleeping well we are just going to leave her there after the wedding and come get her the next morning. And then Saturday we are off to the Ferris reunion. Tyler and Caresse are coming in from California and we are meeting them along with lots of other Ferris friends in Saranac for a BBQ which should be so fun!

Gabi is still going strong with her two naps a day but she has adjusted and does quite well with just a nap in the morning and mid afternoon. I've also solved the fruit problem - for now at least. I will mix a half a container of peaches in with her oatmeal in the morning and she doesn't mind. Awesome.

Gabi has found a fascination with getting a toy in each hand and then clapping them together to make loud obnoxious noises. She won't clap just her hands together but if she gets toys in them she'll bang them together all day! Gabi girl really makes me laugh - I will put her on our guest bed at one and end and I'll stand at the other. I'll tell her to "come here" and coax her to come to me and she'll do like three complete rolls across the bed to get to me! So funny! Little lady also got her first boo boo yesterday :( She was sitting on the floor playing and fell backwards and hit her head on a toy. She got a little cut on the back of head...poor girl! The first of many incidents to come....

Ok, that's all for now. I need to go play with my camera some more....yeah right, actually I need to fold laundry and start packing for this weekend!! I'll post some of my first pics soon!
