Happy as can be walking around the block!
We had a beautiful spring weekend this weekend and there was no way her cast was going to stop her. We spent the weekend outside walking around and playing. We went to the park, but of course G couldn't do much. She still had fun swinging and walking around (we did our best to minimize her running...though she did take a header once during the weekend so she has a matching forehead battle wound). We have to give her sponge baths because her cast can't get wet, and she is so good for them! She goes for a follow up with an orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday, so hopefully we'll know an update then.
Here's what Gabrielle is up to this month-
- Has really become so much more talkative in the past couple of weeks. She has a crazy gibberish language that she talks in ALL the time. She is trying to make different sounds and loves to experiment (though only when she wants to...never when we ask).
- With Gabrielle not being an overly vocal child....it was interesting something she actually repeated about a week ago. Nick was playing video games and quickly said the "s word" a couple of times and Gabi ran right up to him and said "shee! shee!" haha.....I guess we're never safe!
- When asked "what does a sheep say?" she will responded with a spirited "baw bah ba!!!!!" and for a rabbit she says "hah hah hah" while hopping.
- Says "all done" to everything possible. We were at the store the other day and I was trying some shoes on her - she doesn't like to be messed with so after I got one shoe on her she crankily informed me "ah dah!!"
- Wears 12 month pajamas, pants, and dresses, and either 12 or 18 month tops and leggings. Size 4 shoes and diapers.
- Loves to play hide and seek. She will point behind her walker and insist I hide there....then she hides....then she comes and finds me behind the toy. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
- Her hitting phase seems to have gotten MUCH better. We don't even really have that problem anymore (knock on wood!).
- Knows all the motions to songs and loves to have me sing them while she dances along (wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, five little monkeys.....etc).
- Has lots of separation anxiety with me. If SHE is the one that is leaving she has no issues leaving me....but if I leave she has a complete meltdown. Like, I cannot even go to the restroom when we're at a restaurant because she will lose it.
Seeing Dada come downstairs
Action figure....yesssss
Showing Gabs how all the arms and legs move
- "Giving" it back to dad momentary before taking it away again
And then this weekend we went out to the park. Even though Gabrielle has a cast all the way up her arm we couldn't keep her inside on this beautiful weekend. She couldn't do much at the parks but enjoyed walking around at least.
