18 Months...on her way to TWO!

Doctor Stats -

Height: 31.5 inches (45th percentile)
Weight: 20lbs 12oz (6th percentile)
Head: 49 cm (97th percentile)

Yep, our kid grew two inches and lost 10 ounces in three months.  That's pretty crazy.  We're going back in a month for a weight check to see what's going on with that.  She doesn't look "skinny" or underweight, but maybe she's toned up a bit?  I don't know.  Everything else with the appointment went well though, so that is good.  After our weight check, we aren't scheduled to go back until she is two!

In just a year our kiddo went from this....
To this!

Time flies!!!

Well, we have had a few milestones this month just in time to turn 1 1/2!  We're on the way to two now which I can't believe...didn't you just turn one??

The most important thing....Gabi says MOMMY!!!  Gabrielle says both "mama" and "mommy" and it is just the best.  To have your own child call you mommy in her sweet little voice is just too much.

Loves to throw things away.  She had been doing well for so long...finding bits of random fuzz or paper and throwing them away...now she throws away Nick's keys and her milk cups when she's done.  Ah!

Gabrielle is FINALLY off bottles totally!  She kind of weaned herself from the nighttime bottle and then I weaned her from the morning one.  She definitely was not happy when I gave her a sippy cup in the morning but she got through it - she doesn't drink her milk first thing while getting her diaper changed anymore, she waits until we get downstairs and that goes much better.  Yay!  Now for the pacifier....not much progress (or effort) in ditching those....

Gabs is learning lots of animal noises!  She knows cow says "mmm" (moo), owl says "ooh ooh" (hoo hoo), monkey says "ah ah ah" (ooh ooh ah ah), a penguin "waa waa waa" (waddle waddle), she makes a weird meowing sound for kitty, dog says "woo woo" (woof woof), and then she still knows "ba ba" for sheep and "haa haa" (hop hop) for bunny rabbit.

Loves doing motions to songs or books and playing hide and seek.

Likes to color (scribble), look at books, ride on scooters/riding toys, be tickled, make a mess, and LOVES to run outside and play on playground equipment.

Mostly in 18 month tops and leggings, and 12 month bottoms.  Size 4 shoes and diapers.

Learned how to twist and turn knobs.

Sleeps from about 8:15pm-7:30am and takes one nap from about 12:00-2:00ish.

She suddenly doesn't care much for yogurt or cottage cheese anymore...but current favorites are bananas, prunes, dried cherries, grapes, raspberries, strawberries, kiwis, sausage, deli ham and roast beef.  She doesn't like watermelon or cantaloupe, and still detests scrambled eggs.

Current words - dog, kitty, da da, hi, all done, tree, please, keys, cheese, car (cah), bah (ball), mommy, and maybe trying a few others here and there.  The other day I was getting garlic bread out and Gabi pointed to it and said "bread" clear as day (twice)!  Nick even heard it and he was upstairs....but she didn't say it after that.  It's so hard to "count" her words!

She still has only four teeth on top and three on the bottom, with (I think) one molar in each corner.  We're pretty sure she's finally teething again, though....what fun!

She can be such a good big girl.  Lots of times when we come home she will take off her own shoes and put them away (without being told).  She's good at helping clean up her toys and about putting her sippy cup or paci on the coffee table when she's done (instead of throwing it or leaving it on the ground).  We can also reason with her....sometimes.  If she wants to do something we can tell her she needs to do a certain task first and then she can do what she wants.  She usually gets it and will obey accordingly.  Now, of course she still has her tantrums and diva moments, but she can be such a great girl too...and more and more it's her being good rather than throwing a tantrum.

And because I haven't put up videos in a while....here are a couple! The first is really short and from over a month ago, actually. Just her playing peek-a-boo :)

And then shows off her talking skills. Haha...not the best but she is always waaaay more interested in the camera than doing anything in front of it. She has to watch the playback of the movie as soon as we make it - and she's also doing that with my photo camera too....every time I take a picture she comes around back to view the LCD preview. Oh my, what a little techie :)

And of course....some pictures!  I'm going to take Gabrielle out for an "official" 18 month shoot here in a few days hopefully if it stops raining....and gets above 45 degrees.....and the clouds take a hike.

Here's Gabs and her favorite buddy Kaylyn.  Kaylyn just learned to say "Gabi" so darn clear....and it's so darn cute to hear!

She loves that she can reach in her crib and grab her blanket and paci anytime she pleases....

Oh, sweet success!
