The cast is OFF! :)

Gabrielle's follow-up appointment with the orthopedic surgeon was today at 1:45 and her little right arm is free once again!  She definitely didn't like the saw they used to cut off the cast....and screamed at the lady "all done!!!!" in the middle of getting it cut off, haha.  She got another set of xrays and it confirmed that her arm is all healed.  It could easily be seen on this one that the buckle was all the way across her bone and there is a darker white area across now where it has healed.  Even though the "fracture" was on her radius, it is still technically considered a "wrist" because of how far down on the bone it was.  Anyway, she's all better thank goodness!  She doesn't have any sores or skin problems with her arm, and she took a super great bath when we got home!  Of course when we went out for a walk later in the afternoon she fell and scraped her forehead again.  Of course.   

Anyways, like I said earlier, I've got a little cold....and it seems that G does too :(  This is the first time she has been sick all winter (since last September when we went to the Bahamas, actually) so I guess I really can't complain.  Her nose is a little bit snotty, she has some coughs, but overall it's mostly just crankiness/tiredness.  I knew she was really sick when she sat on my lap on the couch this morning and watched TV with me.  Yep, just sat on my lap as we both watched some tube....and then she fell asleep on my lap.  Ah, pure bliss.  Us both being sick was worth it, haha!  I let her snooze on my lap for a while before taking her up to her crib.  She hasn't fell asleep on me since she was teeny weeks or months old.  It was a great addition to my day off.  I have two more days of waking at 1:45am and driving to BC for work before I'm done.  I work two days next week, one the following week, and two the week after.  Most are some early hours, but nothing like rising at 1am thank goodness.
