Frederik Meijer Gardens Butterfly Exhibit

Gabi, Nick, Ron, Billie, and I went over to the Meijer Gardens yesterday and had quite the time!  We got there in the morning right after they opened.  First we went through some rooms with flowers, plants, and cacti.  Gabi had fun feeling all of the plants and running around, of course.  Then we got into the actual butterfly house.  It was the last weekend it was open for the year, so there weren't a ton of butterflies.  Gabs didn't really know the difference though.  She caught sight of a few butterflies while we were there and I think that was plenty.  There was lots of greenery in the butterfly house, as well as a waterfall, flowers, and bridges.

Yeah, they're twins.

She saw a butterfly!!

Look close at the left side of the leaf and you can see an orange butterfly :)

The one picture of me and Gabrielle....and it looks like she doesn't have a hand.  I promise she does, she's just waving too fast for my shutter speed :)

Well, Grandpa Ron missed her two second window of picture taking willingness....poor Grandpa.

They had a really awesome outdoor play area and walking trail too.  Gabrielle really liked that!  We will take her back this summer so she can play out there all day.

"Hi Mom!" Playing up high with Grandma!

Oh my, and then she found a little fort.  It was a little fort, with a little door, a little window, and wildlife stuffed animals inside.  She was in heaven!

Hmm, figured out how to get through the rope fence...

After we were done with the gardens we headed out to lunch.  Gabi was so tired by that point but did great at lunch.  Sometimes that's the best - she just sat in her chair and ate her food.  Lovely!  She even fell asleep on the way home, which is kind of unheard of these days.  We had a really nice time with G&G Taylor and I Gabi really liked that they were there with us too.

Ugh...but this week can get over with ASAP please!  Gabrielle gets her cast off on Wednesday (AWESOME!!), but I work the rest of the week and will be waking around 1am each day to travel there.  YUCK.  And I've come down with a cold.  Double YUCK.
