Memorial Day Weekend = Awesome.

Memorial Day weekend couldn't have come fast enough for this family! Nick has been putting in long hours at work and I've been putting in long hours at home...we were both due for some relaxation and fun. Friday night we had volleyball and although we had lots of friends on the sidelines, we only had two girl players for our team that night so I played all six games. Ugh! We put up a good fight but lost all six games. Another ugh! Oh well, Gabi was great the whole time and we all went in for dinner after our games. Saturday morning Nick and I got right up and started getting things ready to head out to the lake for the weekend. Even though I had a list made and lot of stuff set aside already, packing still took forever. Nick and I had to drive separate (two adults, two dogs, a baby, and three days worth of baby gear do NOT fit in one car) and got to the lake before lunch. We had a lot of fun all weekend - tubing, boating, skiing, playing washers, eating, drinking...etc! There were lots of family and friends out and the weather was great too! I got back in the swimsuit and up on the skis (haha) this summer which was nice. Nick didn't believe me that I had pictures of me skiing from two summers ago so I'll just post the proof here for all to see :)

Haha! Anyway, Gabi was really good all weekend. She had fun with all of the different people, went on her first boat ride, and went "swimming" in the lake for the first time! Since the weather has been so warm the lake temperature was nice and toasty. G is definitely going to be catching up on her sleep for a few days I think. Today already I think she has napped just as much, if not more than she has been awake. That's fine with me though!

Walking with Dad down to the lake She got scooted around the water but liked it best when she could just sit in the shallow part and play with the sand
Hanging out with Uncle Jason
Grandma and Grandpa McCallum even came to watch Gabi swim....good thing they didn't have to come far though, because G fell asleep about 15 minutes after they got there :( Kaylyn and her mom and dad came to play too....and ended up staying the night as well!
Mom and baby getting some sun Sunday night at about 8:15pm....Gabi passed out on Grandma and Grandpa Taylor's couch
Late last week I filled up G's baby pool for her one afternoon. She was more interested in chewing on her tub toys than playing in the water though.
Friday night volleyball - Team Five rocks!!! We also met some friends from Gabi's baby library class at the park last week. Kiley and Gabi were born only one day apart! It was pretty much impossible to get a cute picture of both of them looking at the camera...especially when they were fighting over Jenni's cell phone case......

Gabrielle also started peaches on Thursday and it definitely didn't go so great. She was not all about eating those sweet peaches...for the first time our meal ended in tears :( She ate most of the container but was quite upset by the end. Since we were headed to the lake the next day I decided to nix the peaches (usually we do 4-6 days of a food) and bring her first "2nd food", squash and corn. I was 100% positive that she would like that and she surely did. We'll start the peaches back up in a few days once her squash and corn mix is gone. Gabi eagerly demolishes any veggie I put in her mouth but little lady just doesn't really like fruit!
