10 Months Old

Our baby girl is in the double digits now...10 months!

  • Primarily wears 6-9 month size clothes, but can still fit in a few 3-6 month pieces, and can wear quite a few 12 month sized clothes too...baby clothes sizes are crazy!
  • Wears size 3 diapers, but I may buy a box of 4's next time to see how big they are.
  • We've settled into in a three meal-a-day routine with bottles in between.  We will have to add in more snacks and whole milk soon, however, when she is weaned from formula around 12 months.
  • She eats many big girl foods - pieces of cooked veggie, bread, cheese, cottage cheese, chicken pieces, black/kidney beans, etc.  I think grilled cheese is her current favorite food :)  Things she hasn't liked are swiss cheese, hamburger, and yogurt...fruit can still be a struggle too.
  • Sleeps around 11.5 hours a night and usually takes two 1 hour naps during the day.
  • Her hair is continuing to thicken - it is a medium to dark brown color with a bit of reddish tint.
  • Her eyes are still bright blue and I doubt that will ever change with those Taylor genes in there :)
  • Still loves to crawl and cruise.  She can walk while pushing a walker like little pro.  We've seen her stand all by herself for at least a good 10 seconds before, and she's even take a couple of little steps too.
  • Still has no teeth!!
  • She is definitely more verbal and chatters to herself a good portion of the day.  She says all variations of  ga, da, ba, ee, ah.
  • Is very friendly with just about everyone....so no sign of stranger anxiety.
  • Will "sing" (yell loudly) and "dance" (bounce) to music.
  • Holds a phone up to her ear to "talk" on it.
Gabrielle will be starting with her very first real daycare/babysitter this week!  Our neighbor has agreed to work with my crazy, sporadic work schedule and watch G when needed.  I am completely comfortable with her and she lives just a house down from us which is so convenient!  I am going to start contracting with an additional company, so hopefully I can get a little more work my way.  I'd love to work consistently 1-2 days per week....but consistency is the last thing that can be expected from what I do.  Oh well, all is good.  Nick is so excited for fall - football and hunting!  The poor guy got robbed of his hunting season last year due to the timely arrival our sweet girl mid-November, so this year he is sooo ready to get out there!  Gabi went to her first bon fire at G&G Taylor's on Friday.  By the time we got there she was only up for about an hour at the fire before going to bed.  She fell asleep just fine in the house so Nick and I were able to relax after she went to sleep.

I think that is it for this post....we're heading for friends Steve and Alexis' house to watch the Lions game.  Woo hoo......  :)
