Da da?

Gabrielle has been babbling a lot of gibberish in the past day or two, so hopefully that turns into some more actual "words" soon. I think she actually has "da da" figured out. Not who da da is, but she just says it over and over as she crawls around. She mangles variants of da, ga, oww, oh, ah, and ee together so that is kind of exciting. She has become obsessed with pushing her little Mickey Mouse airplane scooter (as previously seen here) around the house. She walks like a pro with that thing, but hasn't really gotten the steering or turning part yet. She'll walk in a straight line, hit something, and then need me to come straighten her out so she can walk again. I got tired of that routine pretty quick and just took her and her scooter outside and we walked down the sidewalk together while she pushed her toy :)

In food news, Gabrielle has tried cottage cheese and really likes it (both Nick and I hate it...ick).  She also enjoys toast, black beans, certain types of cheese, pieces of cooked carrot, baked potato, and *brace yourselves* Arby's roast beef.  Yeah, "Mother of the Year" right??  I just gave her some little pieces of the roast beef and she really liked it....it could have been worse I guess.  Things that haven't gone over so well are swiss cheese, plain noodles, and ground beef.

My mom seems to think that Gabrielle is a little monkey and she loves to teach her tricks.  Her newest one is say "How old are you?"  and G will raise one of her arms straight up above her head (which is supposed to mean 1).  I guess my mom underestimated how quick our little monkey can learn tricks...because she's only 9 months :)  We'll keep practicing so she knows it for her birthday.

Speaking of Gabrielle's birthday...it is in like, 2 1/2 months!!  I have a few little things collected so far for her party, but I guess I really need to get on it now.

How can they say her weight is in the 21st percentile with those cheekers?

I am officially a human jungle gym.  Gabi loves to try and climb up and/or over me.

She looooooves the animals soooo much.....poor cat.

Here is a silly little video of Gabrielle ignoring me when I ask her to do her monkey trick. Of course, she does it all day long, but when I put the camera on her she likes to play coy. She eventually does it at the end....if you can stomach the corny movie for that long :)

That's all for now!  It is Nick's birthday this weekend...the big 2-7!  He is very excited as usual.  We're going out to dinner in Ann Arbor to an authentic German restaurant tonight and will be at the lake this weekend!
