Gabrielle has gone from being able to crawl up a step or two, to racing up a whole set of stairs in no time like a little tiny monkey girl! Literally, all of a sudden she just tore up the stairs a few days ago and it's been her FAVORITE thing to do since. We actually need to get a gate for the upward stairs I think, because otherwise she climbs them nonstop [and therefore, so do I].
Gabrielle's first week with her babysitter went well, I think. She went there three days while I worked and there were no major issues. I guess she napped very well (she usually does, but you never know when she's in a new place), ate well (of course), and had fun playing with the other little girl our babysitter watches. Gabi was pretty needy at night when Nick and I were home and she had trouble getting up early in the morning, but things went well. Nick and I had some adjusting to do though....Nick suddenly had a meeting to be at in Lansing at 7:30am and I had to be to work by 7:00. Gabi wasn't supposed to go to the sitter until 7:30ish so Nick had to miss his meeting. That same day Nick was supposed to pick G up asap by 5:00 because I was going to be at work until at least 6:00ish. Well, a laser broke down at his work right before he was supposed to leave.....luckily I got out early was able to pick the baby up. Drama, I tell you! It just goes to show that it is a LOT more complicated with two parents working. We both could really just go about our days, whatever they may be, before but now it is a bit more complicated. I work two shorter days next week, so I think that should go smooth enough.
Gabi had her first taste of real Italian food.....ok, actually I boiled some frozen spinach and ricotta ravioli and tossed it marinara sauce - does that count?? :) Anyway, Gabi was climbing on my chair begging like a little puppy so I gave her a piece and she really liked it! I had some leftovers so that is what G had for dinner the next night and really enjoyed it. Yay! Another thing she can eat. She is not too into meat usually, so I have to get creative with cheese and beans to get her some protein other than what is in her formula. But I guess I wouldn't like meat much either if I didn't have any teeth. :D
