6 Months Old!

And this is how I found her when she got up from her nap yesterday. So we sleep on our tummy now that we're six months old?? Great, a whole new thing for me to worry about. :) Here a few pictures of the girl on her 0.5 year birthday!! Trying to crawl off the chair to get her toucan after I took it away....
I just still can't believe our little baby is already a half year old! It was just about this time a year ago when Nick and I realized that this "baby thing" was really going to happen. Baby was healthy and my pregnancy was progressing normally so we made our little gummy bear common knowledge to the world. Fast forward a year and we have a six month old baby girl who sits up, laughs, and likes to blow spit bubbles for fun.

Here is a picture of gummy bear (now affectionately known as Gabrielle) in my belly exactly one year ago at 14 weeks prego....

Her doctor well check today went great. They did a big developmental analysis and all of her motor and social skills were very good, but her speech skills weren't hitting the marks they wanted to see. While Gabrielle makes lots of cooing, squeals, and general noise, she hasn't started doing any ma, ba, da, la, etc yet. They want to see her in about six weeks to see if things have improved and if not, we will go from there with a hearing test and such.

She is staying consistent on her growth curve of being rather petite with a large (to say the least) head.

Height - 25.5 inches, 43rd percentile

Weight - 15lbs 3oz, 35th percentile
Head Circumference - 45cm, 97th percentile

Here are some things about our Gabi Girl at six months old:

• Uses fast flow bottles nipples all the time except for right before bed...then she likes to take her time and nom on a slow flower


• Drinks about 24 ounces of formula, 2 ounces formula with brown rice cereal, and 2.5 ounces of veggies per day. So far we've done green beans, carrots, peas, and sweet potatoes which we started on Monday.


• Smiles or laughs after she coughs or sneezes.


• Took a bath in the big tub instead of her baby tub this past Sunday. She didn't much mind...she liked her bath as usual! Mom got a little wet but it wasn't a complete fail.


• Sits up very well and wants to crawl but isn't strong enough yet.


• Can pretty much hold her own bottle most of the time.


• Is finally in all 3-6 month size clothes!! But not gonna lie, some of her 0-3 month pieces still fit so she wears a few of those once and a while.


• Wears either size 2 or 3 diapers. Her size 1-2s are too small though.


• Sleeps from 9pm to 7am
