Take *Gabi* out to the ball game!

Nick and I took Gabi Girl to her first baseball game this past Saturday! We went with friends Tasha, Jeremiah, and baby Kaylyn who is about 3 1/2 months older than Gabi. It was a rainy/overcast morning but cleared up beautifully in the afternoon. Nick and I got a babysitter for Gabi for a few hours in the afternoon and we went out to lunch and shopping together. So fun! No really, it was pretty great just to get a few hours in the afternoon to hang out with each other and shop a little bit without dragging a stroller around and worrying about feeding/changing/keeping a six month old happy. We got home around 4:00 and then packed up and went to the 6:00 baseball game in Lansing. There is a big grassy area at the stadium so we just bought tickets for that and spread some blankets out. The babies had a ton of fun and were both very good. It was a double header and Gabi fell asleep right after the first game got over but Kaylyn was dead set on not possibly falling asleep. We stayed into a good portion of the second game and then left. It was really a good time and we will probably go to another game soon!

In other news, I knew it would happen sometime....she didn't love her new baby food. We started pears on Thursday and though she almost ate the whole container, it was definitely a struggle. Every time she took a bite she would physically gag or shiver in disgust. I sound like a very mean mama, but I didn't force her to eat them. She would take a bite, gag/shiver, and then open her mouth for another bite....so I would give her another bite. Silly kid. the next day we did pears again and it was a much different story. She ate the whole container with no gagging or shivers of disgust. She still didn't love love them, but it was much better than the day before. I guess the sweet taste just took some getting used to.
