We finally got her crib recall fix kit and installed it...boy was that fun! Our dropside crib doesn't "drop" anymore but at least it's safe, supposedly. I'm young and able-bodied. I think I can haul our little peanut out of there without moving a side down. We also lowered the crib mattress to the medium setting while we were in there too. She looks like such a big girl with her bed down low! With the warm weather, Gabi has just been sleeping in a little onesie with her blanket square....no swaddle or anything and does just fine. Score one for us (and her too, I guess!).

Yellow & Green??
Ok, so I have a small boring rant...where are all of the gender neutral baby items?? Green, yellow, orange, red, aqua....come on people! Since Gabi is big enough to sit in the shopping cart without her car seat, I wanted to get one of those fabric cart covers (something I made fun of and swore I would never get before I had a baby...haha). It's not really about germs, it's more about being a bit more secure and comfortable (aka - longer happy shopping time for mom). So I headed to BRU and in the style I wanted - not chintzy death trap, but not designer chic - they had two patterns. A hideous and depressing navy/dark green stripe one, and a bright pink and green one. Now, I am all for pink...it's my favorite color and Gabrielle has a tons of pink stuff (which I love!), but I also try to be rational and economical. I have tried to get most of our big baby "gear" (car seat, highchair, jumper, etc) gender neutral because God willing we will have another baby someday and that baby could very well be a little "Nick Jr.". Well anyway, boring story short, I caved and got the pretty pink and green cart cover! If we ever have a baby boy Taylor we'll just have to spring for a new one!
Gabi started bananas on Monday. It went pretty well after one big shiver with the first bite. Since then she has been eating up the whole container without a second thought. I don't know what is going with our little lady's emotions lately, though. She can cry, laugh, and cry again all in the same breath. Gabi has suddenly only been wanting to nap two times a day max, down from three or four. I have no idea why, and at this point in time Gabi NEEDS to nap more than once or twice a day. She will be happy, charming and playful for five minutes and then be a complete screaming basket case the next five minutes. We are still waiting for the first tooth, so that is our default reasoning for anything with her lately :)
